London Drinks Reception 2009

On Thursday 26 November 2009 over 70 Merchistonians attended the London Drinks Reception.

Back by popular demand the event once again took place in The Running Horse in Mayfair.  We were delighted to be joined by Nigel Rickard who represented the School, Malcolm Gourlay, Chairman of Board of Governors and current Governors Robert Legget, Sandy Corstorphine and Hugh Maule.

We were particularly pleased that Duncan Simpson (41-45), Rick Burnett (52-56), Norman Cardigan (60-65), David Clements (57-62) and Greg Desson (58-63) were also able to attend.  There was also a fantastic turnout from the leavers of 1999.  Carolyn Thornton (Merchistonian Club Secretary) was very happy to meet so many Merchistonians, some of whom she had already met but many who were attending the event for the first time.

Although the evening was due to finish at 10pm, it didn't actually finish until well after 11pm, only due to the bar closing!
