Merchistonian Club

London Drinks November 2009

Although the term 'Merchistonian' is sometimes applied to current pupils of the school, it is traditionally the name reserved for those who have attended Merchiston Castle School in the past, as there is no such term as 'Old Merchistonian'!

The Merchistonian Club, of which former pupils are automatically a member on leaving School, is an extremely active one, and provides a facility for Merchistonians to keep in touch no only with each other, but with events and news from School. There are very active sports sections within the Club including cricket, golf, tennis, fives, curling, shooting, squash, rugby and fishing, and various year groups are invited to attend Reunion lunches and dinners during the year.

The Club funds a Bursary for the son of a Merchistonian and an annual prize is offered to a boy, or a recent leaver, who has shown real initiative or courage in some aspect of his life.
